Permanent Exterior Lighting, Installed Once

Permanent lighting on the outside of homes is our main trade, and we also handle exterior cleaning: soft washing, roof treatments, gutters, windows and driveways. LED lights go into a slim track along your roofline, all tied to a single controller, and we get the app working on your phone before we head out. We have been in business 5 years and are an Authorized Gemstone Lights installer. What you end up with is a system made to stay up all year, not a bin of strands you rebuy every few seasons.

    Exterior Soft Washing

We soft wash siding and trim at low pressure to lift algae, mildew and grime, and we protect your plants while we work.

  • Roof Treatments

A low-pressure treatment that kills moss, algae and lichen on your shingles so the roof dries out and lasts closer to its full life.

  • Gutter Line Lighting

We check your gutter line before mounting permanent lighting, so the track sits right, stays clear of overflow and holds up for years.

  • Window Cleaning

We wash and squeegee the outside of your windows, using a water-fed pole for the upper panes, so the glass is clear on every side of the house.

  • Surface Cleaning

We clean driveways, walkways, patios and steps with a surface cleaner that lifts dirt, algae and stains evenly, without stripes.

Towns We Serve

Our permanent roofline lighting goes up on homes in Guilderland and the towns around it, such as Westmere, Voorheesville, Albany, Schenectady and Rotterdam. Niskayuna, Roessleville, New Scotland, Colonie and Scotia are on our list too.

What Sets the Price

Every home is a different shape, so we quote each one on its own. The biggest driver is how many feet of roofline you want lit. After that, it comes down to how hard the roof is to reach and how you want the system split up.

We measure your roofline and talk through what you want, then give you a written quote with the parts listed. The quote is free, and there is no pressure to book.

Length of roofline
Price follows the linear feet of track and lights. A ranch with one long run costs less than a home with several gables.
Height and roof pitch
Second stories, steep pitches and tall peaks take more ladder work and more safety setup. That adds time.
Corners and peaks
Each corner and peak needs cuts and joints in the track. A simple roofline goes up faster than a busy one.
Power and controller spot
The controller needs a nearby outdoor outlet. If the closest power is far from where the lights start, running wire neatly takes more work.
Zones
Some people want the front and back on separate controls, or the garage on its own. More zones mean more hardware.
Trim color
Most trim colors match standard track. An unusual color may need a different finish.

A Small Local Crew for Lighting and Exterior Cleaning

We are a local contractor based in Guilderland. We install permanent lighting on the outside of homes, and we also clean them: soft washing, roof treatments, gutters, windows, driveways and walkways.

Most people call us after one too many weekends on a ladder in the cold, untangling strands that worked last year. We tell you plainly what a permanent system costs, what it saves you over time, and whether it makes sense for your house. If it does, we install it clean and leave you a system you can run from your couch.

Why Homeowners Pick Us

Holiday lights cost less on day one. We help you look at what they cost over ten winters, and then you decide.

  1. 01

    Five years on the job

We have been in business 5 years. We have seen what holds up on a roofline and what comes loose after a hard winter, and we install with that in mind.

  2. 02

    Authorized Gemstone Lights installer

We are an Authorized Gemstone Lights installer. You get a proven product, installed the way it was designed to go in.

  3. 03

    An honest cost comparison

We put permanent lighting side by side with what you spend now: new strands, clips, extension cords, and a ladder or a crew every fall and spring. Some homes come out ahead fast. Some do not, and we will tell you that.

  4. 04

Tracks you barely see in daylight

The track is color-matched to your fascia or gutters. From the street in daytime, most people never notice it.

  5. 05

We show you the app before we leave

We set up your schedules with you, show you how to change colors, and make sure the system runs from your phone. You are not left guessing.

How a Job Runs

Most installs are simple. Here is what to expect from the first call to the first night the lights come on.

  1. 1

    Phone call

You tell us about your home and what you are after. We set a time to come out and measure.

  2. 2

    Measure and quote

We walk the outside of the house, measure the roofline, find your outdoor power and check the fascia. You get a written quote that lists the parts and the work.

  3. 3

    Install day

We mount the track under the roofline, set the lights, run the wire to the controller and tidy every cord. We take our scraps and packaging with us.

  4. 4

    Setup and walk-through

Once it is dark enough, we turn everything on with you, set your schedules and show you the app. Then the lights are yours to run year-round.

Common Questions

Something not covered here? (518) 900-7456

How is permanent lighting different from regular holiday lights?

Holiday lights go up and come down every year. Permanent lighting is mounted once in a track under your roofline and stays there. You turn it on and off and change colors from an app, so it works for holidays, game days or plain white light every night.

Will the track be noticeable during the day?

Not much. We match the track to your trim or gutters, and it sits tucked under the roofline. Most neighbors only notice it once the lights are on.

Is it worth the up-front cost?

It depends on what you spend now. Add up new strands, clips, timers, and the time or the crew it takes to hang and take down lights twice a year. We will walk through those numbers with you and give you a straight answer, even if the answer is that it does not pay off for your home.

How does it hold up in snow and ice?

The lights sit in a sealed track tucked under the roofline, out of the worst of the weather. We mount it so it is protected from snow sliding off and ice along the edge. Winter is when people use their lights most, so we install with that in mind.

Will the install damage my roof or gutters?

We mount the track to the fascia or trim board, not through your shingles. We check the wood first, and if a board is soft or rotted we show you before anything goes up. That way the track sits on something solid and stays put.

Can I use it for more than holidays?

Yes, and most people do. Plenty of homeowners run soft white every evening as a porch and walkway light, then switch to color for holidays or a birthday. You set schedules once in the app and the lights come on by themselves.

Do I need to be home on install day?

You do not need to be home for most of it, as long as we can reach the outdoor outlet. We do want you there at the end so we can turn the lights on together and set up the app on your phone.

How much does it cost?

It depends mostly on how many feet of roofline you want lit, how high the roof is and how many zones you want. We measure and give you a written quote. The quote is free.
